The Port of Gulfport Gantry Cranes

The Port of Gulfport

o’connor/creative partnered with Mississippi Public Broadcasting (MPB) to produce a short video that would tell the story of a key piece of the Port’s Restoration Project.  The three 270-foot tall gantry cranes, which arrived in Gulfport this past March after a long journey from the manufacturing facility in China, were met with much excitement and fanfare. At a total cost of $30 million, these cranes are a significant investment in the Port’s infrastructure and will be put to work servicing vessels for long-time port tenants Dole, Crowley, and Chemours, as well as Mediterranean Shipping Company vessels for Chiquita, who returned to the port from New Orleans in August.  Aerial footage of the arrival was captured with the help of Mercury Aviation in Jackson, MS.

Produced with John Gibson, Edie Green and Scott Cowell.
